Terms & Conditions

The client agrees to the following terms set by My Event DJ to proceed with any booking.

1. Retainer
A non-refundable retainer of 20% of the full fee is required to secure your booking with My Event DJ. In the event of cancellation or postponement by the client, written notice must be given 90 days prior to the event. Where less than 90 days notice is given the full fee will be payable. This includes any cancellation due to COVID-19 – if cancelled or postponement is required due to COVID-19 we can allow a reallocation of your retainer and any fees to a new date within 12 months. The retainer is still non-refundable if COVID-19 related.

1.1 Covid 19 Postponement Policy
If the event is able to happen with the client and My Event DJ not restricted by law or mandates during any time throughout the Covid 19 pandemic and the client wishes to postpone the event, the full fee stated below will be invoiced as a rebooking fee to secure the new date.

2. Fee
The full fee is detailed in your contract. This must be paid in full 7 days prior to your event. If payment cannot be arranged My Event DJ reserves the right to cancel the event with no notice. Please get in touch if you need to discuss payment options.

3. Meal
We do appreciate being included for a meal and non-alcoholic drinks during the event. We unfortunately do not eat seafood.

4. Safety
The client is responsible for ensuring safe and workable conditions for the DJ, their equipment and vehicle and shall take necessary precautions to ensure such conditions. My Event DJ reserves the right to seek compensation should any damage occur.

5. Set up
A My Event DJ typical event system takes approximately 30 minutes to set up. We require 1.5 hours before performance start time to ensure everything is setup safely and tidy. If a larger setup is required we will arrange extra time to allow for set up.

6. Travel
Travel is included in some packages up to 4 hours away from Hamilton. Other travel expenses are calculated at $0.80c per km outside of 25 km from our office located in Hamilton. Accomodation is not required if travel time is less than 4 hours one way, is travel time is further than 4 hours away accomodation will be required. If a larger set up is requested a truck rental fee may be discussed to be included with your fee.

7. Media
Our DJs may take some photos for use on our website and social media. These can be uploaded to our social stories the day after your event. We do ask for one or two professional photos from your photographer so we can showcase your wedding further down the track in our marketing. If you would rather us not use any media from your wedding, please let us know.
